NSES – North Savo Entrepreneurship Society

The North Savo Entrepreneurship Society, located in Kuopio, serves as a welcoming and inclusive community center for both international residents and locals. While originally founded by students to promote entrepreneurship, it has evolved into a vibrant hub where people from all backgrounds can come together to share ideas, learn from one another, and build meaningful connections.

Supporting environment for locals and internationals

NSES provides a supporting environment for locals and internationals in the North Savo region to associate with entrepreneurship.

For international residents, NSES offers a friendly environment to engage with the local community, explore entrepreneurial interests, and take part in activities that support personal and professional growth. It provides an excellent opportunity to meet new people and better understand the business culture in a relaxed and supportive setting.

“North Savo entrepreneurship society is dedicated into supporting students and nonstudents who are interested into entrepreneurship and would want to start their own businesses or start-ups”, says Xyeanne Million, President of NSES.

NSES promotes integration and inclusion through creativity among residents from diverse cultural backgrounds.

NSES regularly organizes a wide variety of activities such as workshops, networking events, inspirational talks, and informal coffee meetups. These events are designed to be engaging and accessible, whether you are just getting started with an idea or already working on a project. One of the highlights is the “Pitch Point” event, which allows participants to present their ideas and receive constructive feedback in a supportive atmosphere.

“We also have hackathons, so this is a one or two days a week where anyone can just come and solve a problem that depends on our partners such as companies and universities. So, in this activity, someone can participate as an individual or come together as a group and at the end of the program they could come up with the best solution that solves a certain problem”, says Million.

Open to everyone in the region, including non-students

Joining NSES is simple and open to everyone with an interest in entrepreneurship or community-building.
